A Key Tool for the Resource Utilization of Bulky Waste – Air Classifier
In the process of solving the "garbage siege," the air classifier, as the core equipment for the refined processing of bulky waste, has become a crucial link in waste reduction and resource utilization due to its density sorting advantage. This equipment, based on aerodynamics and vibration technology, achieves efficient separation of different components after the bulky waste is crushed by precisely controlling airflow and vibration parameters, providing high-purity raw materials for downstream recycling.

From a workflow perspective, the air classifier's operational logic, adapted to the characteristics of bulky waste, is particularly clear. Bulky waste, processed to 20-100mm by the Bulky waste shredder, is first evenly fed into the pretreatment module by a plate chain feeder. The vibration device loosens the material and removes fine particles such as mud and sand. The material then enters the sorting chamber, where an adjustable airflow of 0.8-4 m/s generated by a variable frequency fan works in conjunction with a vibration device: lightweight materials such as plastic film, foam, and fabric are carried by the airflow to a cyclone separator for collection; medium- and heavy materials such as wood and rubber fall onto an adjustable landing plate for recycling; while high-density materials such as metal and concrete blocks flow along the bottom guide plate into the heavy material bin. A single unit can process 10-50 tons of material per hour, achieving a purity of over 95% for separating light and heavy materials, far exceeding the accuracy of manual sorting.

The equipment's structural design fully considers the complexity of bulky waste. The sorting chamber adopts a modular design, equipped with adjustable guide plates and a fish-scale screen, which can optimize the airflow trajectory according to different waste types such as construction waste and discarded furniture, avoiding blockages caused by lumpy materials. Core components are made of Hardox® 400 wear-resistant material to address wear issues caused by hard debris such as metal and glass, extending the equipment's lifespan by more than 50%. Simultaneously integrating a "cyclone dust removal + activated carbon adsorption" system, the dust emission concentration is below 10mg/m³, meeting environmental protection standards.
In practical applications, this equipment is widely adaptable to the processing of bulky waste such as construction waste, discarded household appliances, and scrap furniture, providing raw materials for recycled aggregate production and plastic recycling. Compared to traditional manual sorting, its efficiency is increased by more than 10 times, and labor costs are reduced by 60%, helping projects such as Fengyang, Anhui, achieve their goals of processing 3,000 cubic meters of waste per day with a resource recovery rate of 85%. With the advancement of the "dual-carbon" policy, air classifiers are becoming core equipment for waste treatment plants to build a "crushing-sorting-recycling" circular system.
